Novena for Marriage & Family - Day 6

Saint John Paul II wrote at length about the family in 1994 when the Church celebrated the 'Year of the Family.' He said, "The civilization of love is possible; it is not a utopia. But it is only possible by a constant and ready reference to the "Father from whom all fatherhood on earth is named", from whom every human family comes." Today, let's pray that all families may be ever more Christ-centered, recognizing all good as gifts from our Father.   Here are the prayers for today:

Please grant through your mother’s intercession that I may always bring Your mercy into my family. Our Lady, on this feast of your birth, please pray for stronger and holier marriages. Amen. O holy Mother, St. Joachim and St. Anne were delighted to love and care for so holy a child. Pray for me today that the feast of your birth may give great joy to my soul that I may show greater charity to my parents and grandparents in word, prayer and deed. Day of Prayer for Cancer - September 3, 2014

Throughout Wednesday’s liturgies at the National Shrine of St. Jude, we will pray in a special way for all those who suffer from cancer. We invite you to join us September 3rd, and on the first Wednesday of every month, as we call upon St. Jude for the healing of cancer. Please send your special intentions for healing and remembrance of those affected by cancer to the Shrine or join our prayer circle of healing by posting your prayer to our Day of Prayer for Cancer wall below.

We pray together:
St. Jude, you are the bearer of abiding hope. I place myself in your care as I bear the cross of cancer. I trust that you intercede constantly for me, giving me courage when I am afraid, strength when I grow weary, hope for my most difficult challenges. Most faithful patron, may you remind me always of the love and healing God offers to each of His children. Amen.
