PRAYER TO ST JOHN BOSCO FOR YOUTHS TO READ CLEAN BOOKS AND WEBSITES
ST
JOHN BOSCO, PATRON OF EDITORS, FOUNDER, FRIEND OF YOUNG PEOPLE
–
FEAST: JANUARY 31
In
St John Bosco the liturgy honors a Saint whose soul was all
simplicity, joyfulness and zeal, whose trust in divine Providence
overcame every difficulty and persisted through every obstacle. Born
near Turin in 1815, St John Bosco devoted his life as a priest to the
poor, to prisoners and to all the unfortunate of the capital of
Piedmont, but especially to poor and homeless children. He sheltered
them and educated them and helped them to begin an honest way of
life, with no other resources than his unwavering faith, he founded
several institutions and also two religious congregations, the
Salesian Fathers in 1868, and the Daughters of our Lady Help of
Christians in 1876. St John Bosco died in Turin in 1888, leaving
behind him the reputation of a great miracle worker.
PRAYER:
Always
help us, O Lord, to read good clean literature, both books and
electronic media. Through the intercession of St John Bosco grant
that, by being preserved from all impurity, we may, with spotless
minds and pure in heart, ever burn with the fire of charity to seek
after souls and serve You alone, all the days of our life.
Amen.
Mary,
Our Lady help of Christians, pray for us.
St John Bosco, pray for
